About this blog
I don't think this webside can be considered a personal blog at all. It will obviously reflect my personality, opinions and hobbies, but it actually terrifies me to put my life details out on the internet. At some point, I realized how much of myself I was sharing in social media, that combined with the insecurity brought by the constant comparison with others made me feel forced to show only my most polished version to the people that followed me. The more attention that version got me the more I wanted to perfect every story, post and repost, eventually losing all my authenticity chasing those likes. That may just be a me problem; most of my friends seem to have a healthier relationship with their profiles (or themselves), and did not quite understand why I decided to ultimately delete my accounts. But at the same time, I have found that there are more than enough reasons to stay away from those platforms. Those are the same reasons that led me to create this blog. I crave for this to be a way to share all the things that I care about simply because I genuinely enjoy it, not because I want to appear to be smart and interesting for an audience to recognize me as such, and get an ego stroke with it.
I'm not trying to demonize the Social Media nor I think sharing our life is inherently a bad thing, I just think a blog would be a healthier way to go about it, doing it in my own terms while reclaiming my time and attention, without getting my data stolen for weirdly specific Temu ads or without seeing ragebaiting content to get me to engage. Internet used to be about sharing what makes us unique to people alike and I want to get that back.
